Listen: Julian Casablancas + The Voidz – Human Sadness

This month Julian Casablancas releases his second record away from the strokes entitled ‘Tyranny’. Finally we have got a song from it in the form of ‘Human Sadness’, an 11 minute epic of some of the weirdest music the man has ever put out.

Honestly it’s hard to hear a single word of what Casablancas is saying in this song but i’m enjoying it nonetheless. It sounds like Julian has dived in headfirst into what he has dabbled in before. There are big dirty synths, There is such a wide use of instrumentation on this song and everything is manipulated as hell, yet it still sounds very heartfelt.Above all Casablancas still manages to find time to throw in some of his killer melodies amongst all of the madness. Casablancas is also using more of his falsetto like on the last Strokes record ‘Comedown Machine’.

(By the way you can buy this album in the form of a USB stick which comes packaged to look like a lighter which you can buy here.)

Listen to it below and see what you think of it.
